As the soot and dirt and ash rained
down, We became one color. As we carried each other down the stairs
of the burning building We became one class. As we lit candles of waiting and
hope We became one generation. As the firefighters and police officers
fought their way into the inferno We became one gender. As we fell to our knees in prayer for
strength, We became one faith. As we whispered or shouted words of
encouragement, We spoke one language. As we gave our blood in lines a mile
long, We became one body. As we mourned together the great
loss We became one family. As we cried tears of grief and
loss We became one soul. As we retell with pride of the sacrifice
of heroes We become one people. We are One color One class One generation One gender One faith One language One body One family One soul One people We are The Power of One. We are United. We are America.

I asked God for
Strength... And He gave me
difficulties to make me strong. I asked God for
Wisdom... And He gave me
problems to solve. I asked God for
Prosperity... And He gave me brain
and brawn to work. I asked God for
Courage... And He gave me
danger to overcome. I asked God for
Love... And He gave me
troubled people to help. I asked God for
Favors... And He gave me
opportunities. I received nothing I
wanted... And I received
everything I needed.

As children brought
their broken toys I brought my broken
dreams to God But then, instead of
leaving him I hung around and
tried to help Soon I snatched them
back and sobbed, "My precious child,"
he gently sighed, "What
could I do? You never did let go." -

We could learn a lot from crayons:
Some are sharp, some
are pretty, some are dull, some have weird
names, and all are different colors... but they all have to
learn to live in the same box.

The good you find in
others, is in you too. The faults you find
in others, are your faults as well. After all, to
recognize something you must know it. The possibilities
you see in others, are possible for you as well. The beauty you see
around you, is your beauty. The world around you
is a reflection, a mirror showing you the person you are.
To change your
world, you must change yourself. To blame and
complain will only make matters worse. Whatever you care
about, is your responsibility. What you see in
others, shows you yourself. See the best in
others, and you will be your best. Give to others, and
you give to yourself. Appreciate beauty,
and you will be beautiful. Admire creativity,
and you will be creative. Love, and you will
be loved. Seek to understand,
and you will be understood. Listen, and your
voice will be heard. Show your best face
to the mirror, and you'll be happy with the face looking
back at you.
